Chapter 327

After an hour, Nolan returned to the villa in Regal Heights with Elora.

The moment they stepped inside, he called his personal doctor to check her thoroughly.

Once assured she had suffered no injuries, he dismissed the doctor and left the room himself, instructing the butler to tend to her carefully.

He wandered alone toward the corridor's far balcony, stepping outside for a cigarette.

Thoughts of Reyna stabbed at Nolan like a raw, untended wound.

Elora's behavior that day had reopened the pain he had tried to bury.

He needed solitude to let the hurt slowly subside.

At that instant, the driver appeared from outside. "Sir,you dropped your phone."

Nolan accepted it, muttering a quiet acknowledgment. When he switched it on, dozens of missed calls immediately lit the screen.

He realized too late that in comforting Elora,he had completely ignored Eleanor.

His chest tightened, and he hastily dialed her number.

The line greeted him with nothing but a cold busy signal.

Frowning, he tried a second time, but the result remained unchanged.

Crushing his cigarette beneath his shoe, he prepared to descend the stairs.

He intended to confront Eleanor at the Benton family's villa and clarify everything in person.

However, before he could move, the butler rushed over. "Mr. Stewart, I asked the kitchen to make some soup for Elora, but she won't eat it, no matter what l say. What should I do?"

Nolan froze for a moment, pulling out his phone to send Eleanor a brief message. "Something urgent happened today.I'll explain it face-to-face another time."

After sending it, he slipped the device into his pocket and entered Elora's room.

She sat near the bed, murmuring softly to the mnaid holding a steaming bowl. "I just can't eat right now. Please take it away."

Nolan softened his tone. "What's troubling you?"

When Elora noticed him,her fingers gripped his sleeve."I miss Reyna terribly."

Reyna had passed away.

Was Elora contemplating another tragc choice?

Nolan's brows knitted, and he spoke gently, offering comfort. "Since you miss her, why don't we spend a few days at the hotel near the cemetery tomorrow?Fannie and Eleanor will be with us too."

It was the only plan he could devise that might work for everyone.

She gave a small, obedient nod.

After observing her finish half the bowl, Nolan stepped out of the room.

He checked his phone again; Eleanor still had not responded.

He sent a follow-up message. "Eleanor, why don't we take Elora to the hotel near Eternity Cemetery for a couple of days starting tomorrow?"

Since Eleanor's phone remained silent, only quiet greeted him.

Nolan, tense,smoked relentlessly.

...

Panic surged. Without Eleanor's reply, leaving was impossible, forcing him to cancel the trip.

Yet he could not depart anyway, as any attempt seemed to worsen Elora's fragile state.

He was trapped, unable to seek Eleanor out, while she ignored his calls.

Consequently, the two remained disconnected for several days.

Eleanor didn't notice the flood of messages he had sent until she had drained her creativity and completed her designs for the next quarter.

Hesitating briefly, she dialed his number.

The line rang busy on his end again.

Calmly setting her phone aside, Eleanor refreshed herself before heading to the hospital with a thermos in hand.

She had not visited Norwood in days and worried over his condition.
