Chapter 369
Mike shook his head, regret shadowing his features."I only received the notice yesterday. Regarding the new owner, I have no clue. However, I suggest preparing early and seeking alternative suppliers. Otherwise, once the new owner assumes control, it may disrupt your business."
Eleanor realized no further details could be extracted from him. She thanked him for his advice and left quietly.
Later, she approached several other suppliers, yet the outcome remained disappointing.
Although no factory outright rejected collaboration, each insisted they couldn't provide the specialized fabric she required.
By evening, Eleanor returned to the Enigma store, frustration etched into her expression.
Besty stepped forward instantly, almost like a guardian, her face serious. "Boss, the Starry Series is selling rapidly, and warehouse fabric stocks are almost depleted."Handing over her tablet, she displayed alarming sales figures alongside a warning about dwindling inventory.
"If we don't replenish the fabric immediately shortages will appear in just three days," Besty warned.
Eleanor accepted the tablet, her frown deepening."I visited multiple suppliers today, but nothing worked.Calm the customers. Tell them urgent restocking is underway. I plan to travel to another city to explore options."
Besty nodded firmly. "That's all we can manage for the moment."
A long sigh escaped Eleanor. "Hopefully, it won't be too late."
At that moment, Maverick entered, holding a tender box of pastries.
He approached Eleanor directly, offering the box with a friendly smile.
"Eleanor,I heard about your difficulties, so I wanted to see if I could assist," he said.
She blinked,surprised.
Having just returned from the factories, she wondered how the news had traveled so quickly. "It's regarding the fabric, right?" Maverick continued before she could respond. "Don't bother visiting another city. I know where the fabric you need can be obtained."
He didn't leave her guessing, speaking with unflinching clarity. "It's in Breoqua. My family works in the fabric trade."
It was no wonder he had heard the news so fast.Eleanor's eyes widened as realization struck. Maverick had come to propose collaboration.
Still, Breoqua was far away. Transport, tariffs, and communication costs created enormous obstacles.
Enigma prioritized top quality and efficiency, but uncertainties of an international supply chain made a long-term partnership impractical.
"Thank you for your generous offer, Maverick. But international cooperation is too complex; it isn't a sustainable solution," she responded.
Noticing fleeting disappointment in his gaze, she added, "If we can't secure it domestically, perhaps an emergency purchase from you might work once. But honestly,a long-term arrangement is unlikely."
Maverick's smile wavered briefly, yet he quickly restored his cheerful composure. "No worries,Eleanor.Treat it as a backup. I'm always available whenever you need assistance."
Relief washed over Eleanor as he didn't press the issue. He offered a casual excuse and departed.
Outside, Maverick slipped into a quiet alley, retrieved his phone, and called an international number.
The call connected immediately.
Exuding confidence, he said, "Dad, I will impress the lady you introduced, but I require your support. First, redirect the fabric business domestically as soon as possible."
Eleanor's refusal had been anticipated.
She was independent and proud, never one to accept help lightly, particularly when it carried strings.
That suited him perfectly.
Patience was plentiful.
He remained determined to make her recognize his value.
