Chapter 408

Nolan had no idea of Lillian's plan.

The following morning, Nolan proceeded to the company as was his custom, ready to tackle the day's business affairs.

Upon his arrival, Erick approached with a brisk step and reported, "Mr. Stewart, our stock price has not only stabilized but is poised to exceed its prior trajectory."

This development was hardly surprising

Nolan gave a subtle nod, his expression as unreadable as a calm sea.

He turned his attention to a stack of documents from the textile factory, which had piled up over recent days.

These papers were pivotal in his quest to win back Eleanor, and he was determined to oversee every detail himself, leaving no room for missteps.

Erick, noting Nolan's composed air, ventured cautiously, "Mr. Stewart, it's been a day since we held the press conference. Perhaps you might consider-" Before he could finish, Nolan's icy glare cut him off."Do you presume I require yourcounsel?"

Erick fell silent, stung by the rebuke.

Had it not been for his concern that Nolan's failure to reconcile with Eleanor might unleash his frustrations on the entire team, he would have held his tongue.

Inwardly, Erick felt a pang of injustice.

After a pause, Nolan murmured, almost as if to himself,"The moment isn't right yet."

Before he could approach Eleanor, he needed to handle Elora, the source of all his troubles.

Left unchecked, she could stir up further chaos.

With this resolve, Nolan turned to Erick and instructed coolly,"Summon Elvin Dale."

Erick's heart skipped a beat, but he nodded swiftly."At once,Mr.Stewart."

Shortly thereafter, a middle-aged man entered alongside Erick, bowing with deference."Mr. Stewart, you wished to see me?"

Nolan wasted no time. "For your overseas assignment,I need you to take someone along."

Elvin nodded, then tread carefully. "What role should we assign this individual?"

He assumed it was a favor for someone needing international exposure, a delicate matter.

A lofty position might cause friction, while a lowly one could breed discontent.

Elvin decided to defer the decision to Nolan's judgment.

To his astonishmnent, Nolan's voice turned frigid. "No role is required. Your task is to deliver Elora to the warlords in Zerovia."

Elora? The woman rumored to be like a sister to Nolan? Was he truly intent on casting her out entirely?

Elvin, though taken aback, maintained his composure and replied respectfully, "As you command, Mr.Stewart."

Thirty minutes later, Nolan, flanked by a retinue of bodyguards, made his way to the hospital.

Elora, stripped of her phone and oblivious to her unraveling schemes, leapt from her bed in excitement upon seeing him. "Nolan, have you made up your mind? Are you here to take me home?"

Nolan, disinclined to entertain her chatter, merely gestured with a flick of his hand. The bodyguards advanced, their faces as impassive as stone, encircling Elora.

Elora's smile faltered, and she recoiled instinctively."Nolan, what is happening?"

Nolan offered no reply, his gaze brimming with unadulterated contempt.

As two bodyguards moved to hold Elora, she let out a desperate cry, clutching her abdomen. "Nolan, my stomach-it hurts! Please, save my child."

Nolan gazed down at Elora,a sardonic smirk curling his lips. "Pregnant, are you? Are you quite certain of that?"

Elora's face stiffened, her breath catching in her throat.

What did he mean by that?

Had he uncovered her deception?

Without granting her a moment to weave another lie,Nolan issued a curt command. "Remove her."

The bodyguards surged forward, seizing Elora's arms with unyielding grips and hauling her toward the exit.

Elora's panic erupted into chaos. She thrashed wildly, her voice a frantic jumble of pleas. "Nolan, I beg you, I was mistaken! Truly, I erred! Have mercy,please-for Reyna's sake, spare me this once!"

At the mention of Reyna's name, Nolan's eyes glinted with a chilling frost. "You're unfit to utter her name."

With that, he turned on his heel, his expression as cold as a winter's dawn, and strode away.

As Elora watched his figure recede, the final spark of hope within her flickered out.

Nolan's demeanor left no doubt; he knew the full extent of her schemes.

Before Elora could grapple with the weight of her ruin, the bodyguards tightened their hold, dragging her into the elevator.

Trembling with dread, Elora stammered, "Where are you taking me? Release me! Where are we going?"

Her pleas met only the hollow silence of the descending lift.
