Chapter 348
The Enigma Group's fashion show in Vladena was packed to the brim.
With the launch of their first menswear collection, the turnout was even greater than at their debut event.
The moment Eleanor stepped backstage, a familiar figure rushed over.
Rupert was drenched in sweat, looking like he had barely survived a storm.
"Ms. Warren, thank heavens you're here! I was at my wit's end!" he blurted, his voice filled with exasperation. "You know how popular you are, yet you left no one in charge and showed up this late? That's far too reckless! Your fans nearly drove me insane."
His theatrics made Eleanor laugh.
"I'm sorry, Mr. Brown. I should've planned better," she said warmly, taking a microphone from a staff member.
She then addressed the restless crowd."Thank you all for coming from afar. The show is about to begin, so please find your seats and be patient."
At once, the cheers and chatter died down. With Enigma herself making the announcement, the fans needed no further persuasion.
The venue fell silent.
Moments later, the show began.
The lights dimmed, music poured through the speakers, and models graced the runway in Enigma's latest women's wear. Each design was sharp and elegant, with her signature eye for detail that left the audience awestruck.
But the true highlight came with the much-anticipated menswear debut.
When the first male model appeared in a tailored suit full of flair, the crowd erupted.
No one had expected Enigma's menswear to be this striking.
Her creations carried elegance with a playful twist,a style that immediately captivated the distinguished gentlemen in attendance.
By the finale, anticipation had soared to its peak.
As the lights brightened, Eleanor stepped onto the stage to offer her thanks. At once, she was surrounded.
"Ms. Warren, when can we place orders for the menswear?"
"Ms. Warren, you're a genius! Our company wants every single piece from the new line."
"Ms. Warren,I'm with..."
Some came as true buyers, while others were clearly dazzled by Eleanor herself.
She stayed poised, her smile steady as she addressed them. "Thank you for your support. If you'd like to place orders, please register with our staff, or visit our Vladena store after the event."
After a final word of gratitude, she returned backstage.
Her shoulders sagged as she rubbed her neck. Just as she sat down, a bottle of cold water appeared before her.
She looked up to find Maverick's bright, cheerful face.
Without hesitation, she accepted it. "Thank you."
Maverick took a seat beside her, studying her quietly.
The Internet was ablaze with headlinesabout Nolan's supposed engagement, but Eleanor showed no sign of distress.
After a pause, he asked gently, "Eleanor, aren't you upset?"
Unaware of the news, she assumed he was hinting at her past troubles with Nolan.
She shook her head with calm indifference."Work keeps me too busy to dwell on such things. And you -stop poking your nose where it doesn't belong.Focus on yourself."
Her composure silenced him. Clearly, she wasn't shaken at all.
Maverick smiled faintly. "Well then, since it's my first time in Vladena, I'm feeling alittle lost. Won't you treat me to a meal?"
Eleanor couldn't resist his pitiful tone.
He had flown all this way to support her-it was only right to show him some hospitality.
And truthfully, she found his company pleasant.
"Alright. Tell me what you'd like to eat," she agreed, rising from her seat.
Maverick followed closely, his gaze lingering on her slender figure, a trace of thoughtfulness in his eyes. He knew she didn't see him as more than a friend.
But that didn't bother him. After all, time was on his side.
