Chapter 377

Fannie walked over to the pool, only to find the place completely empty. The only ones around were a few robots moving back and forth, cleaning the water and wiping the tiles.

She slowy went around the pool, checking carefully, and finally noticed something in a trash bin tucked in the corner.

It was a swimsuit. The shoulder strap was ripped, the fabric frayed as though it had been violently pulled apart.

Fannie's heart skipped a beat.

Her mind instantly brought back the sight of Nolan looking messy and the sound of Elora crying in pain.

So they really had slept together.

That explained why Elora had been so broken, even trying to take her own life.

Holding the swimsuit, Fannie realized how serious this was. This wasn't just a piece of clothing; it was proof.

If Eleanor ever saw this, she would never forgive Nolan.

And yet, despite all that had happened, Elora still cared about Nolan and Eleanor. Elora was far too kind for her own good.

With that in mind, Fannie decided she couldn't leave it lying there. She had to bury this truth.

She quickly picked the swimsuit out of the bin and was about to slip away when she suddenly spotted Erick walking over with a group.

Fannie's pulse jumped. Instinctively, she shoved her hands behind her back, trying to hide it.

Erick looked just as surprised to see her. Due to her health,Fannie hardly ever came here.

"Miss Stewart? Why are you here?" he asked, raising a brow.

Fannie forced a shaky smile. "I... I was only passing through."

Her words came out uneven, and she avoided his eyes.

Erick was sharp enough to notice something didn't add up,but he let it go.

The Stewart family's affairs, especially those concerning Fannie, weren't his to touch. His silence gave her a chance to breathe. Relief washed through her.

"I'll head back now, Erick," she said quickly, offering a flimsy excuse before hurrying off.

Erick stood there watching her leave.

There was something strange about the way she behaved, but with urgent business waiting, he couldn't afford to linger on it.

Turning to the men behind him, he gave a firm order."Check every corner. Don't miss a single detail."

"Yes, sir!" they answered in unison and immediately spread out to search.

Meanwhile,Fannie hurried back to her room, her heart thumping wildly.

Once inside, she locked the door, pulled out the swimsuit, and shoved it deep into the back of a cabinet, covering it with a pile of old clothes. Only then did she feel a bit safer.

With the task finally done, she headed back to Elora's room.

Elora, now in fresh clothes, was sitting on the bed, looking absentminded. Hearing the door creak open, she turned her head, her eyes filled with unease.

Fannie walked over, and apologized, "Elora, I'm so sorry. By the time I got there, the pool was already cleared out. I searched everywhere, but your swimsuit must have been tossed away by the servants."

Elora froze for a second, then let out a long breath.

Tossed away?

That was actually a relief.

At least there would be no trace left behind.

Though she secretly felt lighter, she forced a bitter smile and shook her head. "It's fine. Just forget it."

As she watched her try to act strong, Fannie's chest tightened with pity.

Fannie didn't realize that by hiding the truth, she had just created a much bigger problem.
