Chapter 385

At that moment, Elora slowly came to her senses.

Her weak, trembling voice asked, "Where am l?"

Confusion clouded her face until her eyes caught the sign on the door. "Obstetrics and Gynecology." The words hit her like a sudden jolt of lightning.

In a panic, she grabbed Nolan's sleeve, tears spilling uncontrollably. "Nolan, I'm sorry. I never meant for this. I'll end it, I swear. I'll get rid of the baby. Please, don't let this come between you and Eleanor."

But Nolan didn't soften. His expression stayed unreadable as he freed his hand from her grip and walked out without a word.

The doctor quickly followed him, leaving Fannie behind in the ward. She could only watch Elora sob until her shoulders shook, helpless and uncertain about what could possibly be done in such a mess.

Out in the hallway, Nolan stood like a barely contained storm.

His voice was intimidating when he asked the doctor,"Is it possible to run a DNA test on the child now?"His mind replayed the day Elora had been assaulted.

The thought gnawed at him... what if the baby came from that incident?

The doctor's expression faltered. "She's already weak and undernourished. Right now, she's not strong enough for an abortion. And a paternity test during this stage could put both her and the baby at serious risk."

Nolan's hands curled into tight fists, the veins on the back standing out.

The uncertainty was suffocating. If the truth about this child stayed buried, then his future with Eleanor would shatter completely. He could feel it.

Erick appeared just then, his tone urgent. "Boss, your grandfather called. He wants you at his place right away."

Nolan drew in a long breath and gave a brief nod."Fine."

However, before leaving, he instructed Erick, "Keep round-the-clock watch on the hospital. No visitors are to be allowNed in Elora's ward."

He paused for a moment, then asked, "Where's Eleanor? And has the pool water test report come in yet?" Erick's face turned serious. 'After getting back to the shop, she locked herself in and hasn't stepped out since. Also, all of our people planted inside the Benton household have been removed. As for the water samples, the report confirmed they contained another substance, but it hasn't been identified yet."

Nolan's expression grew heavier.

He knew better than to assume the Bentons didn't notice the people he had stationed in their villa. They had only tolerated it before because of Eleanor.

But they believed that he had gotten another woman pregnant. He should feel lucky that they had cleared those people out without making a scene.

A short while later, Nolan had barely stepped through the gates of the Stewvart family's residence when a phone came flying at him.

"What the hell have you done? Get down on your knees." Norwood's cane shook as he braced himself, his whole frame trembling with fury.

The phone landed at Nolan's feet, its screen glowing brightly. Across it, a headline screamed like a curse."Stewart Group CEO Nolan's Fiancée is Rumored to be Pregnant."

Nolan's heart sank. He hadn't expected the news to spread at lightning speed. He stepped inside quietly and went down on his knees, his thoughts in complete disorder.

His silence, on the other hand, only fueled Norwood's anger.

The old man had given him every chance, even handing over an invitation with the hope that Nolan would finally win Eleanor back.

But what happened instead?

Not only did he fail, but he also turned the Stewart family into the nation's biggest joke. Everyone was now whispering that Elora was carrying his child.

Norwood's patience snapped. His cane jabbed toward Nolan like a weapon as he roared, "I told you time and again to cut ties with that girl, but you refused! And now look at you! You've driven Eleanor away completely! Let me make one thing absolutely clear. The next heir of this family must be born to a woman of dignity and good reputation."

Without waiting for his grandson's response, he continued, "I don't care if Elora is actually pregnant or not. You will settle this matter, and you will settle it fast!"

Nolan lowered his head further, his voice rough and low."I'll take care of it, Grandpa. You don't need to worry."

Norwood was shaking with frustration. He waved his hand sharply, cutting him off. "Enough! Get out of my sight!"

Nolan said nothing more. He got back onto his feet and walked out.

Left alone in the wide living room, Norwood slumped into the sofa with a weary sigh.

Eleanor... such a rare and kind-hearted woman. She was the one he had always hoped would marry into the Stewart family. But now, that hope seemed nothing more than a dream slipping through his fingers.
