Chapter 421

Nolan stayed at the hospital deep into the night.

He sat frozen on a bench outside the ICU, too afraid to close his eyes.

What if, the moment he slept, his grandfather slipped away?

He didn't know how long he sat like that before sleep finally claimed him.

By morning, his phone's sharp ringing dragged him awake.

He answered the phone, voice hoarse."What is it?"

On the other end, Erick's tone was heavy. "Mr.Stewart, the board has sent notice. There's an urgent meeting at nine."

Nolan's eyes turned cold. He rose at once, giving the bodyguards a hard look. "Stay here with Grandpa. Call me the second anything happens."

"Yes, sir," they answered in unison.

Without another word, Nolan strode to the elevator,

his steps long and unyielding.

...

On the top floor of the Stewart Group, the conference room was already packed when Nolan entered.

Of course, Colson and Brodie were there.

So eager,weren't they?

Snatching shares and rushing into a meeting right after-it was clear what game they were playing.

Masking his thoughts, Nolan took the seat at the head of the table.

His gaze was deep, his presence cold enough to chill the room.

Colson acted as if he didn't notice. Clearing his throat,he announced, "We're here to discuss a matter. Brodie and I now hold thirty percent of Stewart Group's shares. We propose to dismiss the current CEO, Nolan."

The room exploded with shock.

Thirty percent?

How?

Nolan leaned back, lacing his fingers on the table, a mocking smile tugging at his lips.

So that was it.

They planned to use the stolen shares to push him out.

But they were fools if they thought it would be easy.

He had thirty percent himself-and results that spoke louder than anything.

Rising slowly, Nolan swept the room with his gaze before locking eyes on Colson.

"Since I became CEO, the profits I've brought this firm are plain for all to see. Do you think a proposal like this can erase that?"

His words steadied the shareholders.

They all knew his ability. Removing the man who had driven the company's growth without reason would be reckless.

One by one, the votes were cast.

The result: six against, four in favor.

The dismissal failed.

As the meeting broke up, shareholders drifted out in groups. Brodie brushed past Nolan, leaning in to sneer, "Don't get too proud. This is only the beginning."

Nolan didn't look at him. His eyes cut straight past, landing on Colson. He walked over, each step sharp and deliberate, and said in a voice like ice,"If anything happens to Grandpa, you won't escape."

Colson chuckled lightly/, as though amused. "His health has always been weak. If he collapses, what's that got to do with me? Instead of fretting over him, you should worry about how long you'll keep that chair."

He left with Brodie, strutting smugly.

Nolan's hand curled into a tight fist at his side as he watched them go.

Damn them.

Once he had proof, he would see they paid dearly.

A loyal shareholder, seeing his grim face, patted his shoulder. "Mr. Stewart, don't worry. We will stand with you."

Nolan gave a faint nod, saying nothing.

He wasn't in the mood to deal with those shareholders.

All that mattered now was getting back to the hospital. He needed to be there when Norwood woke. With that thought, Nolan turned and strode out of the conference room.
