Chapter 76

Wyatt's words made delight rush through Amelia. This had unfolded with surprising speed.

Realizing she could finally end things with Jaxton in a matter of days brought a deep wave of satisfaction.

Thinking about the noon appointment for the stock transfer, along with the freedom that would soon arrive, Amelia carried a joyful energy as she strolled back to her office.

After Sally had left, Matias had moved to her desk. He noticed the smile on Amelia's face. Curious, he teased,"Amelia, why are you so happy today? Did you win the lottery or something?"

Landing five percent of the shares felt like she had won the lottery, and Amelia couldn't help but nod.

Matias believed her and wasted no time in asking her to buy him coffee.

Amelia found herself getting along with the Administrative Services Department's crew lately. She tossed Matias a playful jab about his coffee habits and then pulled out her phone to make a delivery order. She didn't just stop at Matias; she went ahead and ordered coffee for the three others in the department, too.

As the group waited for their drinks, Amelia told them all about the new resort project in Prevda.

Wyatt had handed this project over to her, wanting the Administrative Services Department to back her up however she needed.

With every new task, the team's respect for Amelia deepened. Matias, especially, had come to trust her lead without question.

The morning passed quickly.

By noon,Wyatt sent word for Amelia to come to his office.

When she arrived, she spotted a man on the sofa who seemed somewhat familiar.

Wyatt noticed her lingering look and explained, "This is Lucian Ford. He's the company's legal advisor. He'll be with you at the Flynn Group meeting today to finalize the share transfer agreement."

Lucian knew Wyatt well, and it didn't take him long to pick up on Wyatt's special regard for Amelia. Lucian greeted Amelia with an easy smile and offered a handshake. She quickly got to her feet and shook his hand.

Suddenly, it clicked for Amelia-she had seen Lucian from the legal talk shows on Kretol TV before. His reputation as a top lawyer preceded him.

She couldn't help but feel a little stunned. Was such a high-profile attorney really needed for something so minor?

The lunch break was only two hours, and Amnelia exchanged a few polite words with Lucian before they made their wvay out, only to find Wyatt stepping into the elevator with them.

A flicker of confusion crossed Amelia's face as she looked Wyatt's way.

"I am meeting a client at noon and will pass by the Morrison Group, so I can drop you off there," Wyatt said.

Nearby, Lucian couldn't hide his surprise, one eyebrow arching at Wyatt's words.

If memory served him right, he knew Davin had mentioned earlier that a client was supposed to come to the Stewart Group to meet Wyatt. Lucian had his own car, so he didn't ride with Amelia and Wyatt. After Amelia got into Wyatt's vehicle, the driver started the engine.

Soon enough, the car rolled to a stop outside the Flynn Group. The driver wasted no time, stepping out to open the door for Amelia.

With a bright wave and smile for Wyatt, she then joined Lucian, heading toward the building's entrance.

The incident before meant that everyone at the Flynn Group now recognized Amelia. The new receptionist greeted Amelia with a friendly smile. "Miss Flynn, are you here to see Mr. Flynn today?"

Amelia answered with an easy warmth, "I arranged a meeting with him. You can call him to confirm that."

"That won't be necessary. Mr. Flynn already let me know, so you may go to his office now."

The receptionist pressed the elevator button for her,and after Amelia offered her thanks, she and Lucian stepped inside the elevator.

Inside his office, Ricky had spent all morning pacing, impatience growing as he awaited Amelia's arrival.

When she finally entered, he moved as if to scold her.But his words died on his lips when he caught sight of Lucian by her side.

An initial wave of caution came over Amelia until she saw that Ricky's attention was fixed on Lucian.

"Mr.Ford, what brings you here today? Has something come up?" Ricky asked.

Anyone running a business in Kretol understood the value of having a top lawyer in their corner to steer clear of trouble.

Since Lucian was on the roster of advisors for many of the city's most powerful companies, Ricky seized the chance to forge a connection.

Ricky, not realizing Lucian and Amelia had arrived together, assumed it was just a coincidence that they were both here at the same time. That changed when Lucian said, "I'm here today to go over the share transfer agreement for Miss Flynn."

That answer startled Ricky. His eyes brightened, and he edged closer. "You know my daughter, Mr. Ford? You two..."
